About

Grand Gesture is an audio post-production entity run by Collin Gerald Thomas - an award-winning re-recording mixer, sound designer, and musician.

After graduating from Indiana University’s prestigious Jacobs School of Music with a B.S. in Recording Arts and Technologies, he spent a few years working in terrestrial radio in his native Chicago. He then moved to Los Angeles to pursue pro audio full-time, with a focus on helping artists effectively tell their stories at the forefront. Since 2019, Collin has worked on feature films, national ad campaigns, podcasts, and anything else you could think of that you wish could sound better. His work has appeared in theaters and festivals across the world, and has aired as part of national broadcasts like the Super Bowl, the Grammy awards, and the Billboard Music Awards.

Collin has worked diligently to amplify LGBTQ+ voices throughout his career, including through work on GLAAD’s Protect This Kid PSA campaign, the Tribeca-awarded podcast Red for Revolution, and Corey Sherman’s award-winning 2023 feature film Big Boys. He has also lent his time to a variety of other public service campaigns by organizations and companies like Wait Until 8th, Wild Aid, Patagonia, and Carhartt.

Born and raised in Chicago, Collin lives with his wife, cat, and dog in Los Angeles. He's a rabid Chicago Bears fan, a proud Deadhead, and is still captivated by WWE programming well into adulthood.
